FinCalc — Privacy Policy

Effective date: 16 September 2026

FinCalc is a loan calculator. The app has no account, no advertising and no tracking. This page is part of thynkblox.com. Opened directly, it sets no cookies and loads no analytics; the site’s cookie policy covers the rest of thynkblox.com.

Crash reports never include your loan figures or your name. Off unless you turn them on.

What stays on your phone

Everything you type into FinCalc stays on your phone:

  • loan amounts, interest rates and loan lengths
  • your income and existing payments
  • loans you save, and the comparisons you make
  • your theme choice

None of it is sent anywhere. There is no server to send it to. FinCalc works with the phone in aeroplane mode.

Files you create — a PDF or spreadsheet of the payment schedule, a shared card, a backup of your saved loans — are made on your phone and handed to whichever app you choose to send them to. FinCalc does not keep a copy and does not see where they go.

If Android backup is on for your Google account, your saved loans and settings are included in that backup, which is encrypted, and we cannot access it. Crash report data is excluded from it. Your crash-report choice is part of that backup too, so if you restore FinCalc onto a new phone it keeps the answer you gave. You can change it any time in Settings.

What is sent, and how to stop it

A crash report is sent only after you tap Send reportson the card FinCalc shows when it first opens, or turn the switch on in Settings. If FinCalc then crashes or stops responding, it sends a crash report so the fault can be fixed. A crash report contains the technical details of the fault, your phone’s model and operating system version, and a random identifier for the installation (the Crashlytics installation ID and the Firebase installation ID).

A crash report never contains anything you typed. No loan amounts, no income, no saved loans.

Crash reports are handled by Google Firebase Crashlytics on our behalf. They are not sold and not shared with anyone else. They are kept for up to 90 days.

To turn crash reports off: open FinCalc, tap the settings icon at the top of the screen, and turn off Send crash reports, or tap No thanks on the card when FinCalc first opens. Nothing further is sent from that moment on. The choice is remembered.

If you turn crash reports off, reports already handed to the system for sending may still be sent in the next few hours; no new reports are created.

There is no other collection of any kind. FinCalc contains no advertising, no analytics and no marketing tools.

Children

FinCalc is not directed at children and collects nothing that identifies anyone.

Permissions

FinCalc asks for no permissions on install. When you export or share a file, your phone’s own share screen handles it.

Your rights over your data

Because your loan details are only ever on your phone, you control them directly.

  • See your data. Everything FinCalc holds is visible in the app.
  • Take a copy. Settings › Back up saved loansmakes a JSON file of your saved loans and opens your phone’s share screen, so you pick the app or place it is sent to. You can keep it or move it to another phone.
  • Correct it. Any saved loan can be edited or deleted in the app.
  • Delete it. Settings › Delete everything on this device erases every saved loan and every setting immediately and permanently. It cannot be undone, and there is nothing left for us to hold afterwards.
  • Withdraw consent to crash reports. The switch described above, at any time.

Deleting the app also removes everything it stored.

If you have turned crash reports on and want reports already sent to be deleted, write to the address below with the approximate date and your phone model. Reports carry only an installation identifier, so we may not be able to find yours; in that case they are deleted automatically within 90 days.

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act

The only personal data FinCalc processes is the installation identifier in a crash report, and only if you turn crash reports on. We process it on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw in the app at any time.

  • Purpose: fixing faults in the app. Nothing else.
  • Retention: up to 90 days, then deleted.
  • Sharing: none.
  • Nomination: you can nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or are unable to act (section 14 of the Act). Write to the address below.
  • Grievances: write to the address below. We reply within 30 days. If we do not resolve your grievance, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes and the new version is published at the same address before the change takes effect.
